Clarify the need
What problem exists, for whom and under what conditions?
Context-first health innovation progression
I bring together user needs, innovation evidence and health-system realities to identify what must change for an intervention to progress, scale and work in practice.
Selected current context
The problem
Promising interventions often stall not because the idea lacks merit, but because the evidence, users, decision-makers, infrastructure and care pathway do not align in a particular context.
My work examines these conditions early enough to improve innovation, funding and implementation decisions.
Start with evidenced need, not assumed demand. Then test what the context requires for adoption.
My lens
A practical lens for testing whether an innovation should move forward and what the next decision requires.
What problem exists, for whom and under what conditions?
Does the response fit users, evidence and operating context?
What confidence, evidence and ownership are required next?
What must change in pathways, infrastructure, incentives or partnerships?

Current work · Mental health innovation
What enables or blocks mental-health innovations as they move from understanding through implementation across contexts?
Research foundation · Digital health
How can health innovators identify meaningful unmet need with users before committing to solutions?
Next proof to add
The final site should add one verified example that shows a clear decision, your precise contribution, a tangible output and an attributable outcome. Choose evidence quality over logo prestige.
Working on an innovation whose path from promise to practice is unclear?
Discuss a collaborationWhere I add value
Clarify whether a problem is meaningful, evidenced and worth acting on.
Test whether an innovation merits further investment, development or scale.
Identify the actors, evidence, infrastructure and pathway changes required for use.
Turn fragmented evidence and stakeholder insight into a clear decision framework.
Ideas
These are active lines of inquiry, not an empty blog. Replace each with a published piece before adding a newsletter.
Current question
How ownership, infrastructure and pathway assumptions surface too late.
Current question
Why adoption depends on more than understanding the end user.
Current question
A distinction funders and innovation teams often miss.
About
My work has moved across biodesign, health technology, innovation research and system-level mental health. The thread is consistent: beginning with what people and systems actually need, reducing uncertainty before resources are committed, and identifying the conditions required for worthwhile innovations to be adopted.
I bring a research-practice perspective shaped by work across universities, global companies, start-ups, innovation programmes and ecosystem organisations in the UK, US and South Asia.
At the University of Cambridge, my doctoral research examines how early user involvement can improve need identification and reduce uncertainty in digital-health innovation. I also lead the Environments and Infrastructure workstream within the Wellcome Mental Health Catalyst.
